The method involves storing a three-dimensional illustration of a transmission (1) into a machine in a control file. The control file transmission is displayed on graphical user interface with icons (2,3) on housing bores or openings for adjustment with permissible connection areas of machine with respect to user input of selected installation position. The charged control file is transmitted to graphical user interface with respect to its position and/or orientation of mounting position. The mounting position associated with a function of the housing bores or openings is visualized. The control file is loaded into a computer-based configuration and/or function of the checking unit, which is associated with a graphical user interface.
