PURPOSE: A method for preparing an ethyl norbornene compound containing an organoxy silyl group or a siloxy group is provided to obtain the ethyl norbornene compound with high reaction selectivity. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing an ethyl norbornene compound of chemical formula 2 containing an organoxy silyl group or siloxy group comprises a step of reacting hydrogen organoxy siloxy compound or hydrogen organoxy silane compound of chemical formula 1 to 5-vinyl-2-norbornene using a platinum compound under the presence of an ammonium salt by hydrosilylation.
