PURPOSE: A permanent magnet synchronous motor is provided to reduce a torque ripple by equipping a cutting part which is formed by cutting an edge adjacent to the center of the permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION: A rotor makes the relative motion possible to a stator. The rotor comprises a permanent magnet(141) which is inserted into a rotor core(131) in an axial direction. The permanent magnet includes an arched shape and is magnetized to a radial direction. The rotor core comprises a permanent magnet insertion part(133) which inserts the permanent magnet. A cutting part(137b) is formed by cutting an edge adjacent to a center of the permanent magnet.
