1,169,940. Scraper chain conveyers. PARSONS CHAIN CO. Ltd. 18 Dec., 1967 [30 Dec. 1966], No. 58407/66. Heading B8A. Scraper bars F are pivotally connected at 3 to the links of side chains by a member 1 which is connected at 3 to the bar F and is slotted transversely at its other end at 5, 6, to engage the chain. A limb 7 between the slots 5, 6, is curved (as viewed in Fig. 2) so that the connector when being assembled has to be engaged in the outer limb of the chain first. It is then swung down about the outer limb as centre, to engage the inner slot and limb. A portion 8 of the connector is then deformed to retain the latter. Alternatively the inner slot may be closed by a pinsecured or welded link (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). In a further modification, the portions of the chain link and inner slot may be so relatively proportioned that one may be sprung into permanent engagement with the other (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown). |
