METHOD FOR COMBINED PRODUCTION OF FURFURAL AND BIO-ETHANOL

The present invention pertains to the field of industrial production of furfural and bio-ethanol from vegetable raw materials containing pentosane: maize stump, straw, bagasse, etc. Raw material is fragmented to the size of woodchips, mixed with the solution of catalyst and is treated with water-steam by increased pressure. The outgoing steam is condensed and furfural is isolated using rectification. The remaining cellulose in raw material is hydrolyzed with enzymes into glucose and, after addition of salts in necessary amount, the glucose is fermented into bio-ethanol.
