PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for protecting broadcasting contents are provided to prevent indiscreet distribution of recorded broadcasting contents using a broadcasting receiver, thereby safely protecting the broadcasting contents. CONSTITUTION: A controller(102) controls setup of a channel to be recorded. The controller controls recording time and file conversion. A program input unit receives a broadcasting signal. The program input unit tunes the set channel to output the broadcasting contents. A virtual file module(107) changes the outputted broadcasting content into a virtual file. A storage unit(108) stores the converted virtual file. |
