<p>Liquid active ingredient preparation comprises (in wt.%, based on the liquid active ingredient preparation) (a) at least one 8-18C carboxylic acid or its derivative (55-89), which is liquid at room temperature, preferably caprylic acid, (b) at least one mixture (10, preferably 20-35) comprising phenolic active ingredients comprising o-phenylphenol or p-chloro-m-cresol, where the weight ratio of o-phenylphenol or p-chloro-m-cresol and total amount of the other phenolic active ingredients of the mixture is 80:20-20:80, and (c) further fungicide active ingredient (1-10). Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing active ingredient preparation, comprising melting together the active ingredients of the phenolic component by stirring at less than 60[deg] C, and adding components (a) and (c) at greater than 5[deg] C, or dissolving the active ingredients of the phenolic component in an organic solvent, optionally separating, preferably distilling the solvent, and adding the components (a) and (c) before, during or after the solvent addition; (2) protecting collagen fiber containing substrates, preferably animal skins and leather from microbial attack, comprising treating the skin or leather with the liquid active ingredient preparation; and (3) the collagen fiber containing substrates that are preserved with the active ingredient preparation.</p> |
