Insecticidal blocks made by blending an active constituent such as dimethyl-dichloro-vinyl phosphate or dimethyl-trichloro-phenyl-phosphoro-thionate with an absorbant material such as diatomaceous earth or clay, and compounding this mixture with an unplasticised PVC formulation on a suitable mill. The activated/filled PVC is extruded together with or subsequently coated with any other additives (pigments, cosmetics, disinfectants) as a suitable profile (pref. hollow or otherwise having a high surface/volume ratio) and out into sections for packaging etc.
