A gripping arm (32) for a clamping attachment (30) for a forklift (20) has a load engaging inner arm (3) including portions defining a load face (48). The inner arm is pivotal about a first axis (5) parallel to the load face and pivots about a second axis (6) normal to the first axis to engage and secure a load.
