The present invention relates to a method for providing a stereoscopic menu (1) to a 3D display, and more specifically to a method for controlling the appearance of the stereoscopic menu (1). The invention further relates to an apparatus (4) for playback of video data and a data structure making use of such method. According to the invention, a method for controlling the appearance of a stereoscopic menu (1) during playback of video data, the stereoscopic menu (1) comprising one or more graphical elements (11, 12, 13), each graphical element (11, 12, 13) being arranged at a certain depth (Znominal), has the steps of: - receiving a user input (20) to reduce or increase a depth of the stereoscopic menu (1); and - changing (31, 41) the depth (Znominal) of each graphical element (11, 12, 13) in accordance with the user input (20). |
