A method for processing channel information, a method for receiving digital broadcasting and a receiver having the same are provided to recognize inputted identification information as each part in accordance with channel information types and connect to a content service server of a channel corresponding to the channel information so as to identify/search/edit various kinds of content channels easily. A method for processing channel information comprises the steps of; receiving at least one channel identification information which contains identification information of a content service provider area; recognizing each inputted identification information as each part based on channel information types; and connecting to a content service server of a channel corresponding to the channel information. Former channel number information of the content service is inputted as one channel identification information. The identification information of the service provider is inputted as one channel identification information.
