1,190,151. Pivoted windows. PERFECTA MOTOR EQUIPMENTS Ltd. 14 March, 1969 [10 Jan., 1968], No. 1365/68. Heading E2F. The glass 10 of a pivoted window, e.g. a car quarterlight, is secured to its pivot pin 11 by means of a slotted fork end 12 on the pin and which receives the glass adjacent one edge having a drilled hole 18. A screw 21 passes through a first limb of the fork and passes with substantial clearance through the hole 18 into a tapped hole 22 in the second limb. Deformable material, e.g. lead washer 23 is also located in the hole, and is deformed by tightening screw 21, which may carry a conical-ended washer 24. Hole 19 is large enough to allow the head of the screw to pass. In another embodiment (Figs. 3-5) a flat strip of rubber is folded over the edge of the glass and has a pair of grommets which engage hole 18 on both sides of the glass, and which deform on tightening. The pin 11 pivots in sleeve 13 and is loaded axially by a spring 15.
