[Also in Division G2] Columns of liquids in a pipe connected to the inlet pipe 7 of a photometric cell 1 (see Division G2) are separated by bubbles or drops 9 of non- miscible and non-reactive liquid. When a measurement has been made on the particular liquid in the cell, the pressure in the pipe is increased so that a bubble trapped in a chamber 8 distorts, cleans a capillary conduit 2 in the cell as it passes up the conduit to a waste pipe 12 and allows the next column of liquid to enter the cell. |
