[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 5, 1946.] [Class 39 (i)] A method of coating articles by electrostatic deposition comprises conveying articles 10 along a path while spraying them from one side with finely-divided liquid coating material from a gun 14, and an electrode 15 consisting of wires 15b supported on a frame 15a is arranged so that it extends in both transverse directions beyond the limits of the spray and so that a portion of it can reionize and repel towards the articles any particles of coating material passing between the articles. The apparatus is the same as that described in Specification 645,612.
