PURPOSE: A glassless stereoscopic display device is provided to reduce cross-talks with superimposing effects suppressing increased reflection and faint light components. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(1) has a light distributing surface(Sd), a light emitting surface(Sout1), and first and second light-incident surfaces(Sina,Sinb). First and second light sources(2a,2b) are located on the first and second light-incident surfaces. A single-surface prism sheet(3) is located on the light emitting surface of the light guide plate. A transmissive display panel(4) is located on the light emitting surface(Sout3) of the single-surface prism sheet and has a polarizing plate(4a) on the opposite side of the light emitting surface of the single-surface prism sheet. A synchronous drive circuit(5) synchronizes the first and second light sources and displays parallax images on the transmissive display panel. The polarization direction(P1) of polarization anisotropy on the light emitting surface of the single-surface prism sheet coincides with the polarization direction(P2) of the light guide plate.
