<p num="1"><br/><br/><br/><br/>The present invention provides a connector to be inserted into or removed from <br/>an <br/>inlet port of a feeding tube without the need to use excessive force and <br/>substantially <br/>without permanently deforming the tube inlet port while still providing for <br/>the retention of <br/>the connector. It consists of a receiving member configured to receive a <br/>connector <br/>associated with the feeding set. The receiving member includes a plurality of <br/>radially <br/>deflectable fingers that contact the connector to create an interface <br/>therebetween. Upon <br/>removal of the connector, the fingers adopt a shape at least substantially the <br/>same as <br/>that prior to insertion of the connector. The receiving member is composed of <br/>a skeleton <br/>and a shell that covers at least a portion of the skeleton.<br/>
