<p>PURPOSE: A device for managing privilege information of an application in a smart terminal and a control method thereof are provided to prevent the privilege information from being changed by the operation of another application or the random service operation of the application from being performed and to limit the operation. CONSTITUTION: A security management unit(200) senses execution, installation, and update events of an application program, confirms a privilege information change of the application program, and generates an operation control signal of the application program according to the privilege information change. A security application processing unit(100) executes the application program according to the operation control signal. When an execution event of a second application grogram is sensed, the security management unit confirms a privilege information change of a first application program according to the execution of the second application program and limits the operation of the second application program.
