<p>AQUEOUS WAX-CONTAINING DISPERSIONS OF ETHYLENE COPOLYMERS... N1-. Prepared by (a) dissolving a mixture of a copolymer contg. 30-99% wt. polymerised ethylene and 70-1% wt. copolymerised units of one or more polar comonomers, and a hydrocarbon wax in a water immiscible organic solvent, (b) emulsifying the solution in an aqueous system in the presence of up to 10% wt. emulsifying agent with an HLB number of at least 18, based on the wt. of copolymer plux wax, and (c) evaporating the organic solvent from the emulsion. This dispersions are stable, and are useful as coating/impregnating agents in the paper, paint and textile industries, in which their low viscosities composed with hot melts or solns. are advantageous.</p> |
