PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to improve transmittance and secure a wide viewing angle. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, a polarizing plate(310), and a patterned retarder(330). The liquid crystal panel includes a left eye pixel line, a right eye pixel line, and a black matrix. The patterned retarder includes a left eye retarder and a right eye retarder.
