A blow lance 3 for a converter, rotary, hearth or other metallurgical furnace is mounted on a truck 8 on which it can be pivoted about the bearing 7 at an extreme edge of the truck, and moved axially on a guide 5 by a piston drive 21. The truck is mounted on tracks 13 by upper and lower pairs of wheels 14 and 15 respectively and driven by at least one drive 16. Single or multi-rail track may be used (Fig. 4), and more than one lance may be mounted on the truck.</p> |
