PURPOSE: A charging apparatus for electric vehicles and a control method of an electric vehicle are provide to command a vehicle to stop driving when the vehicle is a stolen vehicle by using vehicle information, thereby protecting the vehicle from theft. CONSTITUTION: A charging apparatus receives the information about a vehicle.(S100) The information about the vehicle includes a vehicle number. The received information about the vehicle is transmitted to an upper level server.(S120) The query result of the information about the vehicle is received from the upper level server.(S130) A driving stopping command is transmitted based on the query result of the information about the vehicle(S150).
