A container for pills &c., has a discharge opening 11 normally closed by two gates 18, 19 both of which must be drawn back by knobs 24, 29 against the resistance of springs 22 to allow discharge of the contents. In a modification, Fig. 5, the discharge opening is in a member 31 permanently fixed to a bottle &c. 30.
