PURPOSE: A CRUM(Customer Replaceable Unit Monitoring) chip, an image forming device, and a communication method thereof are provided to record accurate data by generating integrity inspecting data. CONSTITUTION: When data is generated, a main controller of an image forming device or a CRUM chip of a consumables unit generates integrity inspecting data by using the generated data(S910,S920). The main controller or the CRUM chip transmits a signal including the generated integrity inspecting data and the data(S930). The main controller or the CRUM chip receives a response signal corresponding to the transmitted signal(S940). The main controller or the CRUM chip executes an integrity inspecting process by using the integrity inspecting data included in the response signal(S950).
