摘要 PURPOSE: An electrophoretic display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a contrast ratio and a response speed by arranging an electrophoretic layer between two electrodes which face each other. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode(130) and a common electrode(142) are formed on a first substrate(110) and a second substrate(140), respectively. A parasitic capacity in a cell is generated by applying electrophoretic particles. An off signal of a low voltage is applied. A data voltage of a gray level expression of a second gray state is applied. A first gray state is displayed in a second frame. The off signal of the low voltage is applied from a third frame. A data voltage for displaying the second gray state is applied from a fourth frame.
