CONGESTION LEVEL DETECTION DEVICE AND PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PURPOSE: A congestion level detecting device and a passenger conveyor are provided to prevent conduction by outputting control commands based on the number and walking speed of users. CONSTITUTION: A passenger conveyor(1) comprises a platform bottom plate(4), an approach passage(6), and a scan-type distance sensor(7). The platform bottom plate is installed in each entrance and comprises a comb plate(5) in a step side of the passenger conveyor. An approach passage is installed in the half of the comb plate of the platform bottom plate and is formed to approach the platform bottom plate. The scan-type distance sensor is installed around the entrance and irradiates laser beam to a scanning zone including the platform bottom plate and the approach passage. The scan-type distance sensor is installed to see the steps of passengers; accumulates the distance of each measured angle; and outputs control commands based on the number of the passengers in the scanning zone and walking speed.
