PURPOSE: An array substrate for a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to improve transmittance by removing a drain contact hole part. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode(123a) is electrically connected to a drain electrode(113c) through an opening part(121) without a drain contact hole. The area(A3) of an omitted drain contact hole region is used as an opening region to improve transmittance.
