PURPOSE: A spindle motor is provided to prevent a spindle motor from being contaminated by preventing a foreign material from inflowing through an exposed portion with the foreign material inflow prevention fence formed on a base plate. CONSTITUTION: A spindle motor(800) includes a bearing assembly, a stator, a rotary shaft(300), a rotor(400), a base plate(500), and a printed circuit board(700). The spindle motor further includes a clamp(600). The bearing assembly includes a bearing housing and a bearing. The stator includes a core and a coil. The rotor includes a yoke(410) and a magnet. The base plate has a protrusion portion which is formed corresponding to the core of the stator. The printed circuit board is arranged on the top of the base plate. |
