PURPOSE: A method for determining the complexity of a system based on a shape item and a device thereof are provided to quantitatively determine the complexity of the system based on the shape item and an interface of the shape item. CONSTITUTION: An input module(100) receives first values and second values. The second values correspond to the existence of an I/F(interface) module for interfacing of software shape items and interfacing between external systems and the software shape items. An operation module(200) determines the complexity of a system by adding the first values and the second values. A display module(300) outputs the determined complexity of the system through an external display device.
