DETECTING APPARATUS AND THE METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A detecting device and a method thereof are provided to easily recover a slag by using a magnetic property and to reduce manufacturing costs by using the slag generated in a steelmaking process. CONSTITUTION: A detecting device is located in a transfer path of a cast piece and detects a defect generated in the cast piece. A scale removing unit is installed in a side of the transfer path and sprays a slag ball(112) to the transferred cast piece so that the scale generated on a surface of the cast piece is removed. A detecting unit is included in a rear part of the scale removing unit and detects the defect on the surface of the cast piece. A recovery unit(140) recovers the sprayed slag ball. The recovery includes electromagnet. A housing unit warps the recovery unit and the scale removing unit. Average granularity of the slag ball is less than 3 mm. The scale removing unit comprises a storage unit(110) storing the slag ball and a spray unit(120) spraying the slag ball to the cast piece.
