PURPOSE: A light control device and a method including an energy-saving function are provided to improve convenience by including an LCD and a touch type operation switch. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit communicates with an installation member. A configuration unit(23) inputs an identification number of the installation member and load capacity of an illuminator. A storage unit(24) stores the identification number of the installation member and the load capacity of the illuminator. A display unit(25) visually displays a name of the installation member, a current diming level, and an estimated saving amount. A control unit(22) controls the illuminator by comparing the minimum dimming level.
