A catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification, which contains a phosphate represented by general formula MPO4 (wherein M represents Y, La or Al) or zirconium phosphate represented by formula ZrP2O7; a catalyst for exhaust gas purification, which comprises a noble metal that includes at least Rh and is supported by the carrier; and a catalyst structure for exhaust gas purification, which comprises a catalyst supporting body that is formed from a ceramic or a metal material and a layer of the above-described catalyst for exhaust gas purification, said layer being supported on the catalyst supporting body.
