<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device capable of reducing generation of double images in three-dimensional display, and a display device equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The illumination device has an illumination optical system for generating a plurality of linear illumination lights or linear illumination light formed by a two-dimensional arrangement of a plurality of dot-like illumination lights, and a reflection plate for reflecting the linear illumination light.
