CODING/DECODING APPARATUS FOR MOVING IMAGE USING ADAPTIVE SCAN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coding apparatus and method for moving image using adaptive scan, capable of increasing a compressibility ratio by applying a scan method for a DCT-converted and quantized coefficient of a residual signal after implementation of intra-prediction mode for a predetermined size of block in coding moving images, and to provide a decoding apparatus thereby.

SOLUTION: The coding apparatus for moving image using adaptive scan includes: mode selection means that selects and outputs a prediction mode; prediction means that predicts a pixel value for coding an input video according to the prediction mode and outputs a residual signal block; conversion/quantification means that DCT-converts and quantizes the residual signal block; and coding means that adaptively scans and codes the quantized residual signal block according to the prediction mode.
