<p>The present invention addresses the problem of inhibiting a rolled carbonaceous film being produced by a polymer pyrolysis method from suffering fusion bonding. Provided is a process for producing a carbonaceous film through the step of subjecting a polymer film which has been wound into a roll to a heat treatment, wherein at the temperatures that are not lower than the pyrolysis initiation temperature of the polymer film and are not higher than a temperature at which the weight loss thereof becomes 40% with respect to the weight of the untreated polymer film, the rolled polymer film (2-1) has a gap between adjacent layers of the polymer film so that the value obtained by dividing the thickness (Ts) of the gap between adjacent layers of the polymer film, the thickness (Ts) being calculated for the whole rolled polymer film, by the thickness (Tf) of the polymer film satisfies the relationship 0.33<=Ts/Tf<=1.50 and/or (2-2) has a space in the 50% cross-sectional circle of the rolled polymer film, the area of the space in the 50% cross-sectional circle accounting for 25% or more of the area of the 50% cross-sectional circle.</p> |
