PURPOSE: An RKE(Remote Keyless Entry) apparatus and a method for controlling the smart key ECU(Engine Control Unit) thereof are provided to request the execution of a specific function of a smart key ECU using the RKE apparatus and control the smart key ECU, thereby preventing the exposure of the source from the smart key ECU. CONSTITUTION: An RKE apparatus(20) includes access units(221-224), an RKE MICOM(210), an oscillator(260), a first matching circuit(240) and an RF(Radio Frequency) communications unit(230). If the access unit is mounted on the connection unit of a mobile phone in which an application for RKE service is installed, the access unit is connected to the MICOM, antenna, power and ground of the mobile phone. The RKE MICOM outputs a corresponding control signal if the execution of one function among multiple smart key functions for a vehicle is requested from the MICOM of the mobile phone. The oscillator generates the communications frequency of the smart key ECU equipped in a vehicle. The first matching circuit matches the antenna to the communications frequency. The RF communications unit transmits the control signal loaded in the communications frequency to the smart key ECU through a connected antenna.
