<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic analysis instrument (10) used for measuring the shape of the surface of the eye in particular, and to provide an ophthalmic analysis method using the instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The ophthalmic analysis instrument has a projector (11) and a monitoring device (12). The projector has at least one lighting device and an aperture device. The lighting device has at least one first lighting source (25). The lighting source mainly emits monochromatic light to reflect an image pattern on the surface of the eye (13) by the aperture device. The image of the reflected image pattern is recorded by the monitoring device and the surface shape of the eye is derived from the image.
