<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a composition containing a carbon nanotube using a catalyst and manufacturing conditions with which a high-purity composition containing a carbon nanotube can be manufactured efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: With a method of manufacturing a composition containing a carbon nanotube, the carbon nanotube is manufactured by contacting a catalyst for manufacturing the composition containing the carbon nanotube with a composition containing carbon in a heating reaction region. The method is characterized in that (1) the volume is within the range of 0.2×10<SP POS="POST">-2</SP>to 10×10<SP POS="POST">-2</SP>cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>calculated by assuming that the aggregate of the catalyst for manufacturing the composition containing the carbon nanotube is a sphere, and (2) the value of the following formula is within the range of 1×10<SP POS="POST">-4</SP>to 40×10<SP POS="POST">-4</SP>(g×sec)/cm. The formula is the average volume (V) (cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>) of the aggregate of the catalyst for manufacturing the composition containing the carbon nanotube×bulk density (d)(g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>)/the gas linear speed (cm/sec) when manufacturing the composition containing the carbon nanotube. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
