<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive circuit and a home side apparatus that reduce a reactive current, which does not contribute to driving a light emitting element for transmitting an optical signal. <P>SOLUTION: A drive circuit 52 includes a bias current supply circuit 68 for supplying a bias current to a light emitting element LD in a light emission circuit 75 in which the light emitting element LD is for transmitting an optical signal, and a modulation current supply circuit 63 for supplying a modulation current whose magnitude depends on a logic value of data to be transmitted to the light emitting element LD. The modulation current supply circuit 63 includes a differential drive circuit 41 for selecting whether or not to supply the current to the light emitting element LD in dependence on the logic value of the data, and a termination resistance connected between differential outputs of the differential drive circuit 41. The differential drive circuit 41 and the light emission circuit 75 are DC-coupled, and the current supplied from the differential drive circuit 41 to the light emitting element LD is powered from the light emission circuit 75. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
