<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe-hermetic type storage container for a substance containing a radioactive material that stores waste matters such as sludge or incineration ash containing a radioactive material safely in a large amount without limiting a storage space. <P>SOLUTION: A safe hermetic-type storage container for a substance containing a radioactive material includes: a container body that has a function for shielding transmission of a radioactive material, and is provided with an insert port that opens on an upper portion thereof; and a lid provided on the upper portion of the container body in a freely openable and closable manner to seal the insert port.
