<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine enabling further downsizing. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 100 has: a stator core 160; a stator 150 having a stator coil 165 wound around the stator core 160; and a rotor 200 rotatably provided at the stator 150 through a rotation gap. The stator 150 has a temperature detection element 300 for detecting a temperature of the stator coil 165, and at least a part of the temperature detection element 300 is covered, together with the stator coil 165, by a cylindrical tube 306 to be fixed. In a fixation structure of the temperature detection element 300 which measures the temperature of the stator coil 165, a special case or the like is not be adopted and the fixation structure is formed into a simple structure that deals with the downsizing of the stator 150.
