<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine comprising a damper using a magnetic viscous fluid which surely allows a housing to be positioned and fixed in a cylinder, the housing being contained in the cylinder and the housing containing a bearing for supporting one end of a rod of the damper. <P>SOLUTION: A washing machine comprises a damper 21 for damping the oscillation of a water tank, which contains a drum of a rotary tub. The damper 21 comprises: a cylinder 22; upper and bottom coils 44,45 contained in the cylinder 22; a housing 65 contained in the cylinder 22; a lower bearing 64 contained in the housing 65 for supporting one end of a rod 23; a magnetic viscous fluid 60 among the rod 23, an upper yoke 48 and a middle yoke 39 and among the rod 23, the middle yoke 39 and a bottom yoke 49; and a projecting part 34 formed at an inner wall of the cylinder 22 in a circumferential direction. The projecting part 34 positions the housing 65 in an axial direction of the cylinder 22. The upper and bottom coils 44,45 generates magnetic fields for applying a magnetic force to the magnetic viscous fluid 60, thereby increasing the viscosity of the magnetic viscous fluid 60 and increasing the frictional resistance against the reciprocation of the rod 23 so as to increase the damping effects of the damper 21 and make the water tank hard to be vibrated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
