ABRASION TESTING METHOD, AND ABRASION TESTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion testing method for evaluating initial abrasion of a sample.

SOLUTION: Abrasion resistance property of the sample 44 is evaluated by forming an edge 44c at a crossing of adjacent two surfaces 44a and 44b of the sample 44 by mirror-polishing the adjacent two surfaces, abrading the edge 44c by causing a prescribed relative movement between the sample 44 and a polishing buff 33 with a constant contact pressure under a state where the edge 44 of the sample 44 is brought into contact with a surface of the polishing buff 33, and measuring a width (a dimension in a direction perpendicular to an edge extension direction) of an abrasion surface formed at the edge 44c.
