<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode of a neutron detector where adhesion between a cathode substrate and a uranium oxide coating layer of a neutron detector is improved, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A cathode according to the present invention includes a cathode substrate 1, a metal intermediate layer 2 formed in the cathode substrate 1, and a uranium oxide coating layer 3 formed in the metal intermediate layer.
