<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractable platform lifting device that prevents the height position of a platform from being varied in draw-in operation and smoothly moves a fall preventive member into a facing state, during retracting operation. <P>SOLUTION: The retractable platform lifting device includes: a lift cylinder 20 that drives arms 17-19 to move the platform 5 up and down; a slide cylinder 14 that drives the cylinder 9 to move the platform 5 along a guide rail 8; a fall preventive member 75 having a first engaging member 76 provided in a vehicle frame 1 and a second engaging member 77 provided in the platform 5; and a control device 45 that controls the lift cylinder 20 and the slide cylinder 14.
