The invention concerns a method of processing data in order to digitally certify the association of at least one entity with a place (DO), the method comprising the receipt (100) of at least one piece of positioning data (dPOS) coming from at least one locating device (GEO) located in the proximity of said place, the generation (200) of a digital certificate (ATT) associating the entity with said place according to the positioning data received, and the checking (300) of the association of the entity with said place, by means of said digital certificate, in order to obtain a service dependent on the association of the entity with said place. The invention also concerns a certifying device capable of implementing this method, and a data processing system comprising at least one such certifying device.
