<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat recovery method of a contact type sulfuric acid plant capable of saving energy consumption, while suppressing decline of conversion efficiency of a converter. <P>SOLUTION: In this waste heat recovery method of a contact type sulfuric acid plant including a converter (50) having conversion catalyst layers (100a-100d) for converting sulfur dioxide contained in exhaust gas from a smelting furnace (10) of copper into sulfur trioxide, a part of the exhaust gas to be introduced into the converter from the smelting furnace is branched and introduced into a preconverter (60) including conversion catalyst layers (100e, 100f), and saturated steam is heated by exchanging heat between exhaust gas discharged from the preconverter and the saturated steam, and then the exhaust gas after heat exchange is introduced into the converter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
