<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro acoustic transducer which realizes desired directional characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An electrostatic speaker 1 (electro acoustic transducer) includes: fixed electrodes 10, 50; a sheet like vibrating body 30 which is disposed between the fixed electrodes 10, 50 so as to be separated from the fixed electrodes 10, 50 and displaces according to electric potential differences from the fixed electrodes 10, 50; and elastic members 20, 40 which are respectively provided between the vibrating body 30 and the fixed electrode 10 and between the vibrating body 30 and the fixed electrode 50 and have air permeability.
