<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon-based copolymer in which transparency, heat resistance and moldability are high, and to provide a molding. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrocarbon-based copolymer comprises copolymerizing norbornene derivatives of 2-norbornene, tetracyclododecene or the like with N-cycloalkyl maleimide of N-cyclohexyl maleimide or the like, N-alkyl maleimide of N-methyl maleimide, N-ethylmaleimide or the like, or N-arylmaleimide of N-phenylmaleimide or the like, and has a range of 5×10<SP POS="POST">4</SP>-5×10<SP POS="POST">6</SP>of a number average molecular weight.
