APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for casting in which the volume of a riser part can be reduced much further.

SOLUTION: The casting apparatus includes a means for inserting and drawing out a heater block 6 into and from a riser port 4 provided on a die 3 forming a cavity 2. The heater block 6 is inserted such that a center part is surrounded in an axial direction of the riser port 4. The heater block 6 inserted into the riser port 4 keeps a temperature of molten metal 5 in the riser port 4 hot, and is drawn out from the riser port 4 after the molten metal 5 in the cavity 2 is solidified.
