<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple steering wheel airbag that prevents a driver from being unnecessarily pressed during inflation. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag 20 is formed in substantially a disk shape so that the thickness of a rear region is smaller than that of a front region when completely inflated. The airbag includes a vehicle body-side wall 21 arranged on the side of a steering wheel and an occupant-side wall 26 arranged on the side of a driver, and has a bag shape formed by joining the rims of the vehicle-side wall 21 and the occupant side-wall 26 with a rim joining part 28. In the rim joining part 28, when the airbag 20 is developed flat so as to make the rear region 20b thinner than the front region 20a when completely inflated, a concave joining part 30 is arranged inside a circular arc C continuous from nearby substantially circular-arc general joining part 29, in a portion of a region located in the rear of the front/back center.
